Honors Chemistry used percent compositions of chemicals to determine the cause of death and plane explosion today in class.
Today in Mrs. Hoffower’s Pre-Algebra class, students rolled their way through systems of equations with an interactive Roll the Dice game! Each student rolled two dice, added up the numbers, and used that sum to create and solve a unique equation. The challenge? Determining whether their equation has one solution, no solution, or infinitely many solutions!
Each problem solved earned them bonus points—and a step closer to a homework-free day! This hands-on activity turned algebra into a fun, strategic game and gave our students a chance to explore math in a whole new way. Great job!

Our dedication to character, leadership, and academic excellence continues to open doors for young men ready to serve. We are privileged to welcome back to campus, our alumnus John Rex Spivey as one of our distinguished guests Friday November 15th to educate and encourage those who are considering a future at one of our U.S. military academies. Lieutenant John Rex Spivey is a native of Rogers, Arkansas, a 2009 graduate of Subiaco Academy and a 2013 graduate of the United States Naval Academy. At the Naval Academy, LT Spivey received a B.S. in History, and was elected President of the Class of 2013, a position in which he continues to serve. LT Spivey has earned numerous leadership positions in the Navy. In January 2021, LT Spivey was by name requested to the Chief of Naval Personnel where he now serves as an Action Officer in the Commander’s Action Group, is the International Engagements Officer, and is the inaugural Director of the Naval Junior Officer Counsel (NJOC), which is a start-up initiative and the U.S. Navy’s first cross-designator group of Junior Officers. LT Spivey credits much of his leadership success and interest in advancing respect of diversity and inclusion to his time spent at Subiaco Academy, where he was formed in an environment that develops strong leadership skills based on ethical morality, and also offers daily opportunities to understand other cultures and backgrounds. Congratulations to Subiaco Academy alumnus Brit McKenzie, Class of 2009, on his re-election to the Arkansas State House of Representatives for the 7th District. Now beginning his second term, Representative McKenzie serves on the House Education Committee and the House Aging, Children and Youth, Legislative, and Military Affairs Committee. During his time at Subiaco, Representative McKenzie was an officer on the Executive Student Council, received the Leadership Award for the Trojan Tennis team as a senior, and earned the Student Council Medal of Service. At Subiaco Academy, Rep. McKenzie learned the importance of serving others and developed a strong foundation of character and faith -- values that continue to guide him in his role as a public servant. A graduate of Hampden Sydney College in Virginia, Rep. McKenzie now lives in Northwest Arkansas with his wife and two sets of twins. Congratulations again on this well-deserved achievement!
