Suiting up for prom! Students have been measured for tuxedos, and preparations are underway for a great night tomorrow! When students attend Subiaco Academy we make sure that all their needs are taken care of; that includes tuxedos for prom. Thanks to our Parent's Association and Danielle's Bridal, our students were measured and delivered tuxes of their choice! The Juniors and Seniors are ready for a great prom!

Students in Sra. Flores' Spanish II class had a lesson today in preparing authentic Mexican cuisine! They cooked Mexican green enchiladas and rice, then enjoyed the fruits of their labor. ¡Buen provecho! 🇲🇽

🔦Welcome to this week's Subiaco Academy Spotlight! Our faculty and staff work tirelessly for our students and families, and we want to celebrate them! Today's spotlight is on Spanish instructor, Yadira Flores. Where were you born and where did you grow up? Nací y crecí en Piedras Negras, Coahuila México. What was the path that brought you to Subiaco? Creo que los planes de Dios son perfectos. Llegué al estado de Arkansas en Diciembre de 1997 con mis padres para trabajar y ahorrar dinero para continuar mis estudios en la Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila. Esos eran mis planes pero no los que Dios tenia para mi. Conocí al que ahora es mi esposo por casi 25 años. Decidimos radicar en Russellville y ingrese a ATU y me gradué en el año 2006. En el año 2007 Dios me trajo a Subiaco y como dice el Padre Jerome no fue un accidente en ese año empezó mi carrera como maestra de Español. Hasta ahora sigo confiando y creyendo que Dios me trajo a este maravilloso lugar. What's your favorite part of your job? Mi parte favorita es cuando veo a mis estudiantes esforzandose por hablar y aprender el idioma español. What's your favorite spot on campus? Este es un hermoso lugar donde se siente la paz y la traquilidad, pero diria que es mi salón de clase y esa vista espectacular que puedo ver todos los días por la ventana. What benefits do you see for students who attend Subiaco Academy? Los estudiantes que asisten a Subiaco son realmente bendecidos al estar aqui. Tienen la oportudidad de recibir una excelente educación y formación academica que les abriría muchas puertas en su futuro pero sobre todo tener a Cristo en sus corazones. What's your strongest memory from your first day ever at Subiaco? Recuerdo que estaba muy nerviosa y no podía pronunciar bien algunos nombres y tuve la idea de ponerles nombres en español y hasta hoy en día continuo con esa tradición. Todos mis estudiantes en su primer día de clases escogen un nombre en español. What's a fun fact about yourself that others might be surprised to know? Me encanta la reposteria y cocinar. Me gusta hacer pasteles y postres.

Doing difficult things together. Our first race of the Arkansas Mountain Biking Championship Series (AMBCS) was this past weekend. With a group of six racers, 2 coaches, 4 students, a great weekend was had. Memories were made and resiliency was forged. We turned... - a broken down van into a parking lot bike skills session - forgotten bowls into a new trend of zip-lock bags of spaghetti - fatigue into growth (10 miles of single track through the Ouachita will do that to you!) - two days into an adventure P.S.- Thank you Champion Cycling for the sick jerseys and support!
