The cycling team spent the weekend racing at The Muddy Gnome, I mean The Ugly Gnome Race. The weekend was full of rain, mud, the Toad Suck festival, and fun.
Just a reminder, if you want to go fast- go alone. If you want to go far- go together! Thank you again to Champion Cycling for your support, and thank you to Dr. Wright for joining us on his first MTB race.
🔦Welcome to this week's Subiaco Spotlight! Our Subiaco staff works tirelessly for our students, monks and families, and we want to celebrate them! Today's spotlight is on Susan Tencleve, who recently retired after working for an extended amount of time at the Academy and the Abbey. Sue has been devoted to the ministries of Subiaco for many, many years. She had the role of academy Parent Liaison for years and then moved to be the manager of guest services and reservations at the Coury Guest House. Sue and her husband, Coach Tim Tencleve, are deeply rooted in the Subiaco family, as Coach Tencleve began coaching basketball at the academy 44 years ago. They are an important part of a strong foundation here at our Subiaco community. Sue is shown here with her husband, Tim, and one of their many grandchildren, who are the main focus of her life and are all made to feel like the center of her world. Sue has given both her family and her role at Subiaco Academy and Abbey her heartfelt dedication and devotion. We will miss your presence on the Hill, Sue! We wish you the best, and we know we will see you at the basketball games, as we have for the past 44 years. That is true devotion, and we notice it. Your loyalty is appreciated and admired. Your Subiaco family is proud to say that you are one of ours. May God greatly bless you!

Our amazing Jazz Ensemble performing at Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO!
In addition to performing, our student musicians also enjoyed a dinner cruise on the Branson Belle and time together exploring all that the Silver Dollar City amusement park has to offer.
The Subiaco Academy Jazz Ensemble traditionally schedules a special Spring performance at impressive venues.
Some of these have been at the River Walk in San Antonio, TX., Beale Street in Memphis, TN., and at an MLB St. Louis Cardinals game in St. Louis, MO.
Our jazz performances are always so impressive that our Ensemble always receives an invitation to return anytime to play again.

Last night the informative presentations from admissions officers of several prestigious universities were well-received by those parents and students in attendance. Afterwards there was time for college-fair style interactions to get answers to specific inquiries. The schools present were CalTech, Johns Hopkins University, University of Arkansas, and University of Pennsylvania. This morning at 10:00 another presentation is taking place specifically for school counselors and other school staff who assist students in navigating the college application process. Please join us if you can at Subiaco for that. It's not too late!
God says "Good morning!"
It's another beautiful morning at Subiaco.

Meet Hasten King, a senior from Subiaco, Arkansas who officially signed with the United States Navy today. Hasten was accompanied by his parents, Scott & Christie King, his grandparents, members of Subiaco Academy administration, and his mentors.
U.S. Navy Chief Jack Merrigan presented Hasten with a sign on bonus in the amount of $10,000. Hasten will receive an additional $15,000 when he begins A-School, a type of specialty training program, where he will specialize in the Master of Arms in San Antonio, Texas beginning in September of this year.
In addition to his family, Hasten says that those who have inspired him and built him into the fine young man that he has become while attending Subiaco Academy, include basketball Coach Tim Tencleve, Fr. Cassian Elkins, O.S.B., headmaster Dr. David Wright, Keith Kremers, and Br. Francis Kirchner, O.S.B., among others.
Hasten will follow in the footsteps of his father, Scott King (Class of '93) and brother, Ryan King (Class of '17) when he becomes a Subiaco Academy graduate on May 18, 2024.
Congratulations to Hasten King on this important step in his life. May God guide him as he continues on this path set before him. Your Subiaco family is proud of you, Hasten!! STP!
