Last week the Outdoor Adventure PE class picked muscadines and made homemade jam. This morning they made biscuits in the Dutch-ovens and enjoyed the the fruits of their labors.

Another wonderful day retreat at Long Pool! The second half of the 9th grade enjoyed a day of prayer and recreation on Big Piney Creek. The theme for the day was Humility based on Chapter 7 of the Rule of Saint Benedict.

Great weekend of Cross Country mountain biking at Cedar Glades Park in Hot Springs, Arkansas. We had 5 top 20 finishes, with Sebastian placing 3rd place in JV3 and Max Lukas placing 7th in Freshman.

Mr. Lionel Cantu, former soccer coach and dean, returned to Subiaco Academy yesterday to give a presentation to Spanish I students about finance and budget. Mr. Cantu currently works as a SVP Commercial Banker for Bank OZK.

The Jazz Ensemble added some live music to a dinner celebrating the 10 year anniversary of the GEM (girls education matters) scholarship program. The program was created by the sisters at Saint Scholastica Monastery. Subiaco Abbey and Academy have been active partners providing funding for scholarships to San Benito school in Esquipulas, Guatemala.

Congratulations to the Junior High Quiz Bowl team on winning their second match of the season. Game one: 175 Subiaco/150 Clarksville. Game two: 300 Subiaco/155 Clarksville. Game one All Stars: Grayson. Game two All Stars: Carson & Grayson. In order to be named All Star, a player must earn at least 50 points per game. Honors Chemistry performed the flame test lab today. They tested different salts to see what color they burned. This correlates to potential energy carried by the metal in salt.
