🔦Welcome to this week's Subiaco Academy Spotlight! Our faculty and staff work tirelessly for our students and families, and we want to celebrate them! Every week, we feature a different faculty or staff member and learn more about what makes them tick. Today's spotlight is on English teacher and Football coach, Isaac Cotherman. What's your favorite part of your job? Discussions we have in class about topics ranging from English to philosophy, theology, masculinity, morality, pop culture, etc. Do you have sons or daughters? What are their ages? My wife, Gabbi, and I have six children: Clare - 7 Abel - 6 Linus - 5 Zelie - 3 Bruno - 18 months Aurelia - 2 weeks Where were you born and where did you grow up? I was born and raised in Sweetwater, Texas, west of Abilene about 45 miles. What's your favorite spot on campus? The overlook just east of the Coury House gives a beautiful view to the north. What's your favorite food? Steak or BBQ What was your favorite subject in school? I enjoyed all of them. What activities or sports were you involved in during high school or when you were younger? I played football in high school and rugby in college. I was in theater in high school, too. What's your strongest memory from your first day ever at Subiaco? Before I came here to teach at the Academy, I came on retreat, and I remember how beautiful the grounds and the views to the north were that cold November morning. What's a fun fact about yourself that others might be surprised to know? I do not have a Television or Internet service at home!

🕊️The Sacrament of Confirmation was received this Sunday by twenty-two of our students. They were confirmed by Bishop Anthony Taylor. All the confirmands were guided by Dcn. Roy Goetz through the confirmation program. Congratulations to all! Your Subiaco Academy community rejoices with you on this special day!

Wow!! What an enjoyable Parents' Weekend we had here on the Hill! It started with beautiful weather for the many guests on campus, and ended with a great turnout for our Subiaco Academy Spring Carnival! Thank you to all who made this weekend such a success! Congratulations to Subiaco Swimmer, Garreth Scheffe, as he signs to swim for the University of the Ozarks. He is supported by his coaches Michelle Chuang, Mary Jane Spillers (not pictured), Subiaco Athletic Director, Mike Berry, and Subiaco Academy Headmaster, Dr. David Wright. Scheffe has been swimming for Subiaco for three years, and is ranked among the best in the state, earning a Gold medal and two Bronze medals in the 2024- 4A Boys Swimming State Meet. Congratulations on all of your accomplishments, Garreth! Subiaco is proud of you! Best of luck next year as you swim at the University of the Ozarks!

Our seniors who have benefited from the ACE scholarship program were honored to have a luncheon today with two representatives from the ACE organization. Cat Hendrix, National Alumni Affairs Director, and Hannah Bunch Reber, State Director for Arkansas, presented the upcoming graduates with the post-graduation availability to resources through the ACE organization such as scholarships, internships, and job opportunities. The mission of the ACE scholarship organization is to provide qualifying families with scholarships to private schools in grades K-12, and to advocate for expanded school choice.
