The Subiaco Amateur Radio Club, W5SUB, provides students the opportunity to explore science and technology (STEM) through amateur radio. Students take part in on-campus and off-campus activities associated with the hobby, such as checking into nets; building UHF, VHF, and HF antennas; and maintaining repeaters. Students gain the life skills of being polite, maintaining a conversation, and recognizing how individual strengths contribute to community at-large.

From the “ham-shack,” students have talked to South America, Europe, and Canada as well as throughout the United States. If you are a licensed ham and wish to schedule a contact, please email the sponsor Mr. Don Goetz (KG5LKO) at dgoetz@subi.org.
