The healthcare of Subiaco Academy students is of paramount importance. For that reason, the Director of our Health Center is a qualified and certified Registered Nurse with particular skills in Emergency Medicine. She attends to the medical needs of all students, which includes handling all medical insurance related matters. Each student has a medical record maintained by the Director in a secure and private location. If needed, we also have the additional assistance of the trained personnel, staff and facilities of the Subiaco Abbey Health Center.
The Academy Health Center Director manages all aspects of the healthcare needs of every student, while the day-to-day operations are overseen by the School Nurse. In addition to providing and managing the hands-on medical care of each student, she handles the assessment, intervention, and appropriate documentation for protecting the students' health. She also facilitates other health related student needs such as dental/orthodontic care and referrals for specialty appointments that are needed.
In addition, the Academy has enjoyed a collaborative relationship with the various hospitals and clinics in the area. The closest facilities include North Logan County Hospital and the team of physicians at the Cooper Clinic, both located in Paris, AR, which is five miles from the campus.
