The Order of the Blue Arrow is a group of students who are responsible for visiting with and showing the Academy campus to prospective students and their parents during Discovery Weekends and other academy events.
Blue Arrow members are required to have 15 hours of community service. These hours are reported to Mrs. Lou Trusty, Assistant to the Headmaster, or to Mr. Pat Franz, Blue Arrow advisor. Each member is required to participate in at least three of the Blue Arrow events such as Discovery Weekends or Discovery Sundays.
Nomination of new Blue Arrow members are usually done at the end of each school year. Every current Blue Arrow member nominates three new members on a paper ballot and are given by Mr. Franz. The list of suggested new members are approved by the Headmaster. The nominees are then tested and interviewed by leading members of the organization. The criteria for electing new members is based on the student's:
1. Love for Subiaco Academy
2. Good moral character
3. Willingness to work
4. Ability to communicate with peers, prospects, and parents
5. A good and loyal citizen of the Subiaco Abbey and Academy community
When serving as a Blue Arrow, the dress code is to be Sunday Dress unless noted otherwise.
